Submissions
Who Are You Publishing is looking for writing submissions from all writers, whether young or old, published or unpublished, and in multiple forms of text. We believe that your truth, even a fictional truth, can come in all shapes, sizes, and styles.
Submissions are made to the whole publishing house, however if you would like to specify your submission to either Alice or White Rabbit you are welcome to do so. They will both read them, but they have a bet going on who will receive more submissions than the other.
Keep in mind that the White Rabbit enjoys works that are identity and gender centric, while Alice enjoys... well, she'll read anything.
Submissions can be sent through your friendly, neighborhood post man or by that new fangled contraption known as the internet, which you must have if you're reading the website. Email submissions should be sent as an attachment in either a Word Document or a PDF.
Long Fiction
Please send a section of your fiction that best represents you as an author and the story you are weaving. We don't need the entire manuscript (if you have one finished, great!) until we decide to pursue. In total, the word count of your submission should be between 8,000 - 15,000 words and should give us a general sense of your direction. If you send something longer than 15,000 words, we will probably make snarky comments about your inability to follow directions, unless it's amazing. If it's amazing, we'll probably overlook that. Probably.
Short Fiction
Please send your entire short fiction of 3,000 - 8,000 words to us. If it's longer than 8,000 but less than 9,000, that will be acceptable. If it's more than 9,000 words, we will have to purchase more breakfast tacos to eat while reading and that starts to affect our diets, so please keep in mind the word limitations. Also, if it is more than 9,000 words please see the previous section on Long Fiction.
Poetry
We love poetry. Or at least Alice does. Send us 5 - 10 poems, any length (although we do like authors to be reasonable about poem lengths - again, diets). If you send more than 10, we will read only the first ten.
Blog
Alice and the White Rabbit will be starting up a blog in the very near, very busy future. If you'd like your poems and short stories featured on our literary blog, feel free to send them in! Follow the same basic guidelines as above and we will be happy to give you the spotlight along with what we think of your work.
Send all submissions to either:

Youth Submissions
We all have stories to tell. At Who Are You Publishing, we encourage writers of all ages to tell their absurd stories; serious stories are also accepted but are less fun, hence the seriousness of their nature. Minor writers (in age, not necessarily experience) may follow Alice down the Rabbit-hole by submitting their work as a Prentice Scribbler.
What is a Prentice Scribbler, you ask? I've never heard of such nonsense! Prentice Scribblers is what we absurd folk call our youth writers development program sponsored by the curious editors at Who Are You Publishing. Youth writers can submit their poetry and prose to be reviewed by our impertinent editors who will offer snarky commentary and recommendations with the intent to help our Prentice Scribblers better their writing. As their work is polished into sound nonsense, Prentice Scribblers have the potential for their work to be published in The Rabbit-hole, our online blog so they too can join the ranks of digital authorship.
We ask that all youth writers have their Parent/Guardian send an inquiry email for their child's participation in the Prentice Scribblers. It's not that we don't want to hear from you, Young Writer. The small, really miniscule department of Logic and Reasoning at Who Are You Publishing has decreed that we have specific protocol for communication with minors that requires Parent/Guardian consent before we will respond. They said something about appropriateness and propriety but we weren't really listening. We just know that we're not supposed to say anything unless we have a Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
